WildDakotaWoman TM

Random thoughts on life in western North Dakota with specific emphasis on the Little Missouri River and Missouri River watersheds. Also features news from Red Oak House, book reviews, and photographs from the garden. I write when I feel like it. I recognize that the choice of the name of my blog could be characterized as naughty. My mistakes are my own. UnHeralded.fish picks up my blogs, edits beautifully, and you can subscribe to UnHeralded.fish feeds if you wish.

WildDakotaWoman TM
Retired librarian & Army brat who completed secondary education while living on the family ranch in ND’s Slope County, she holds a bachelor's degree in English from Dickinson State University & a Master of Library Science from Vanderbilt University & was a librarian for almost three decades. She later worked for Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The mother of twin daughters, she & Jim Fuglie own Red Oak House. She is one of the founders of Badlands Conservation Alliance, a grass-roots voice for wild places in western ND. Since childhood, Bullion Butte has been the center of her universe & she is happiest when near the Little and Big Missouri Rivers. Now she mostly gardens and camps and hikes and reads and watches birds, when she isn't washing dishes. WildDakotaWoman.blogspot.com consists of thoughts on wild places & musings on life. She takes heart from her friend, Terry Tempest Williams’ words: "If you know wilderness like you know love, you would be unwilling to let it go. We are talking about the body of the beloved, not real estate."
